I don’t have live updates in this moment. Here’s what I can tell you based on available public information about Glasgow Angling Centre (GAC) up to recent years, plus how to verify the latest news quickly.
Direct answer
- The Glasgow Angling Centre is a large fishing megastore located at The Point Retail Park, 29 Saracen Street, Glasgow G22 5HT. It has historically hosted open weekends and fishing events, with ongoing activity around 2020–2026 in various formats (in-store events, demonstrations, and seasonal openings).[1][8]
What to check for the latest news
- Official channels: The Glasgow Angling Centre's website and their social media (Facebook, YouTube) typically post announcements about open weekends, events, and promotions. Look for posts around March each year or any new event dates.[8][1]
- Local event listings: Glasgow-focused events calendars and community pages (e.g., What’s On Glasgow) often list upcoming GAC events, times, and entry details. Checking these can yield the most current schedule.[1]
- Recent video/news: The shop has produced event recap videos and adverts for Open Weekends, which can indicate upcoming events or changes in format for 2026–2027.[3][8]
Illustrative example
- In 2025, Glasgow Angling Centre advertised an Open Weekend with several demonstrations and deals, echoing a pattern of annual spring events; a similar format has appeared in prior years and was anticipated again in 2026.[3][8]
Notes
- If you’re planning a visit, confirm the exact dates, entry details, and any booking requirements directly from the shop’s current posts or the event listings, as schedules can shift due to holidays or special promotions.[8][1]
Would you like me to pull the most recent posts from their official pages and local listings to provide precise upcoming dates? I can summarize them with links.

If you have ever gone to your local fishing store, they are normally tiny little shops with all of the equipment lining the walls. This is a Fishing Supermarket - or as they call it Fishing Mega-store. Loads of fishing equipment, lures, clothing, electronics, rods, reels etc - everything for every ability. If you like to fish - this should definitely a place for you to visit."
