Ed Husic, Australia’s Industry and Science Minister, condemned Labour’s internal workings after his initiative to open a debate on recognising Gaza failed to pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reportedly described his outburst at a gathering as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unbothered by criticism, stating reporters: "put me in a freezer, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed unsuccessful tries to push the party to declare events in Gaza as genocide.
Party documents and internal files were later filed that revealed deep divisions within Labour’s ranks over policy and leadership.
