Ebola produces serious hemorrhagic fever accompanied by high mortality rates. It is passed chiefly by hands-on contact with bodily fluids from those infected. It is found African regions, during outbreaks frequently in rural areas. Major outbreaks include the 2014-2016 West African epidemic, hitting those three countries. The 2020 outbreak was in 2020 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Illness typically appear after 2-21 days post-exposure, including high fever, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain. Current treatments involve care that supports, like IV fluids alongside complication management, as well as experimental therapies and vaccine use.
